Yandex is a Russian IT company which operates the largest search engine in Russia with 64% market share in that country and also develops a number of Internet-based services and products. Yandex ranked as the 5th largest search engine worldwide with more than 3 billion searches, or 1.7% of global search as of September 2011. The company's mission is to give answers to users' questions (explicit or implicit).
The Yandex.ru home page has been rated as the most popular web site in Russia.Yandex attracts more than 56 million users from all over the world. The web site is also present in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Turkey. Another company, Yandex Labs, is a wholly owned division of Yandex that is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Twitter and Russian search engine Yandex signed a partnership that will allow Yandex to to show the full feed of all public Twitter posts in its search results almost instantly. This is because Twitter becomes an increasingly important source of real-time information in the worldwide Web.
Last Year Google and Twitter failed to renew a deal for the search giant to include Twitter results in its feed. So Yandex got a lucky chance to make a deal with Twitter.
Yandex is Russia's largest search engine, occupying some 63 percent of the market. Google trails behind with a 23-percent share.
